Just to add a bit of squee to everyone’s month, the 2013 AAS prizes were announced at the San Diego AAS meeting and one of our 51+ Women in Planetary Science has won the Annie Jump Cannon award for a distinguished contribution to astronomy within 5 years of receipt of a PhD. Sally Dodson-Robinson, one of the women highlighted in our 51+ Women in Planetary Science, was given the Annie Jump Cannon Award for her research on the formation of planetary systems and the mechanisms under which giant planets are formed in circumstellar disks around their parent stars (AAS press release).

Everyone please give Sally a big congrats!
