You all probably know about Linked In, an online site where people can make professional connections in ways that we once could only do at cocktail parties or poster sessions … but do you konw about BioMedExperts? I was surprised to find that this site has collected over 1,500,000 profiles and uses references in the literature to establish social networks, viewable by name, by location, or by map. (Oh, and it’s not limited to biomedicine by any stretch of the imagination.)
This is a new approach … it will be interesting to watch it (and other sites) evolve.
