Countdown to LPSC: For Students
Are you a graduate student or undergraduate student heading to LPSC for the first time?
Congratulations! This is one of the best conferences, both in size and formality. You’ll find that many of the scientists have been coming to Houston for 40 years, ever since the Apollo program, but they are friendly and will include you in the conversation if you have something to add.
To prepare, follow this page for additional tips throughout the week, and go check out our graduate student and undergraduate student pages for information about proposal opportunities and an opportunity to connect with other students before the meeting. Kelsi has also set up a facebook page for the 2010 LPSC, the Early Career Workshop, and the Women’s Networking Breakfast. With over 70 fans already, you’re sure to see somebody you recognize.
Questions? Are you wondering about what to expect at the poster sessions, what to wear, where to eat, and whether you should muster the courage to talk to the author of the big papers in your field? Ask us! Leave a comment and one or more of the seven authors of this blog (or its many readers) will be happy to share our perspective!
