LPSC GSA award winners

Congratulations to these women in planetary science who were recognized at LPSC this week for winning awards from the Geological Society of America!

  • Carle Pieters was honored with the 2010 G.K. Gilbert Prize and a session at GSA in her honor;
  • Bethany Ehlmann was honored with the Pellas-Ryder Award for best graduate student paper in planetary science: her Science paper identifying carbonates on Mars;
  • The GSA also honored graduate and undergraduate students with Dwornik awards. The best undergraduate poster presentation went to Mairi Litherland, from Rice, now at Stanford.
