Dr. Lynn Margulis, a luminary in the science of the origins and evolution of life, including astrobilogy, died yesterday. Though I’m not a biologist, I’ve always admired Dr. Margulis. She led her life on her own terms, balancing work, family, and life as she saw fit, not as society dictated.
