Lego ladies!

June 5, 2013

I posted about the Lego company starting to add more female characters to their line back in December (Lego Friends). Today I saw a proposed “Idea” on Lego’s Cuusoo platform where people suggest designs for new Lego products.  This idea has women acting in all sorts of cool scientific roles.  There is a paleontologist studying a dinosaur, an astronaut, astronomer, geologist, engineer and more!  If the “Idea” gets enough supporters, Lego will consider mass producing it.  Check it out and give it your support!

These are sold out online, but if you call actual lego stores and ask, they are still getting some in, but they are relatively rare and behind the counter so you have to ask! 🙂

Does the scene on the bottom left portray an actor on one of those sets where they fake moon landings? The ships are all too small to fit an astronaut, and her suit is unzipped! Though with MIT’s next-gen form-fitting space suits, wearing an overcoat does become a possibility! Still, it could be a megaphone in her hand… 😉

She doesn’t mention us (She only really talks about tweets) but the sudden increase started the same night we posted this so I like to think we had a huge impact too! 🙂

Alright!! That’s awesome! I wonder if we can write Lego and tell them we want to see it produced? Hope it happens!
